SustainU Website Design
I’ve worked with SustainU before, and I’m really into what they’re doing. They’re a fairly new start-up, but they have big plans and even bigger ideas, so I wanted their website to make them feel like they are on the right track.
After talking with the client about their goals for the webs, we decided it would be best to focus on SustainU’s mission rather than pushing their product. I designed a layout that matched their aesthetic and told their story in a way that was similar to the brochure I designed. I also integrated a news/blog area to keep the public up-to-date on the company.
To push SustainU’s 100% Domestic/Recycled/Necessary message, I used a secondary navigation right on the homepage that utilized jQuery (my first time using it) to animate the text sliding in and out of the page. I also used WordPress to handle CMS and blogging duties so the company’s employees could update the site easily.
